Renegade Marmalade at the Alternative Hair Show

The Renegade Marmalade styling team were honoured to be involved in the Alternative hair show this week.

The Alternative Hair Show, which has raised over 7 million Pounds in aid of Leukaemia Research, was held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night and saw spectacular entries from all over the world including America, Germany and Czech Republic, with only 12 finalists selected for the International Visionary Award to present a model on the night.

The Renegade Marmalade styling team were working alongside Andrew Collinge, James Bacon and Alfie Booth. We were commissioned to create an overall image to compliment their hair designs, producing an overall image for the International Visionary Awards, The British Greats catwalk and the cut demonstration led by James Bacon (Art Director, Andrew Collinge).
The theme for the final was ‘contemporary couture’ and the stylists were judged on hair design, presentation and fashion styling as well as overall image.

Standards at the annual event were extremely high and after much deliberation Alfie (who has also previously been shortlisted twice as ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the British Hairdressing Awards) triumphed at the 27^th Alternative Hair Show – winning the International Visionary Award. The judging panel of Alternative Hair British Greats included John Frieda, Daniel Galvin, and three times British Hairdresser of the Year, Anthony Mascolo.

Commenting on the award, Victoria Jackson (Director and founder of Renegade Marmalade) said, 'We are delighted Alfie has won this year's Visionary award. He was completely deserving and we are honoured to have been involved.'

Alfie Booth commented, ‘Winning this award has definitely been the best day of my life. All the judges on the night are my heroes within the hairdressing industry and to receive this award from them is the biggest highlight of my career.’

Renegade Marmalade welcomes Bolongaro Trevor to the collections at the Northern Quarter store.
Bolongaro Trevor is the complete Menswear/ womenswear collection designed by Kait Bolongaro and Stuart Trevor (founders and former designers behind All Saints Retail Ltd) This new collection has caused quite a stir on the catwalks this year and is now highly sort after by the likes of Agyness Deyn, Daisy Lowe, Peaches Geldof, Erin O'Connor, Courtney Love and Liam Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Drew McConnell (Babyshambles), Josh Hubbard(Paddingtons), The Rakes, The Cazals, Ali Love and the beautiful Sienna Miller..
