Stine Ladefoged.

We don’t all love the cold the English winter brings, but I think its safe to say we all love the prospect of opening up the winter wardrobe and getting the woolies out. For me putting on an over-sized knitted jumper is a dream in the frosty morning but - although it suits it purpose, and while warm and cosy is the style of the season - I couldn’t help but wish for something more.

Surely a chunky knit isn’t where it ends for the designs and features of knitwear? Sure I want to be warm, I want comfort and ease; but I don’t want to be just another baggy jumper. After all, it’s fashion that gets me out of bed in the morning!

So after searching trade shows high and low across most of Europe, it was at Copenhagen Fashion Week that I hit the jackpot (whilst wearing the knitted jumper that I so craved to be something else) I found myself in a knitwear fantasyland where designer Stine Ladefoged had pushed the techniques of knitting to its limits. The clothes were alive with dramatic detailing, creating structure and dimensions I had not seen before. Like an artist, Stine Ladefoged had used wool as the medium to sculpt these wonderful creations and I suddenly felt a little sheepish (pardon the pun) standing there in my now uncomfortably ordinary jumper.

It was agreed instantly that this label would join the ranks of Renegade Marmalade and it has been a painfully slow 6 months waiting for the winter collection to arrive. But finally the wait is over. The collections will be with us this week and available to you online as soon as possible!

Until then here’s a little taster.
